Behind Kerri's Lens...RIP Midnight

A year ago, my youngest daughter and I rescued this poor little kitten whose mother was ran over off our main road.  

Our intention was to raise him til he was big enough and then send him with my in-laws to help out around the barn with those nasty critters they have out there.

That did not happen, Midnight and Rylee made this special bond that I have not seen in a VERY long time between a human and an animal, they loved each other VERY much!!! 

Sadly, Midnight had a habit of going out the doggie door (thanks Chris) and had a tendency to wander off, well one day he did just that, and he got hit by a car, he found his way back home, but the damage was too great for him to be fixed and to live a normal life without complications.  We kept him safe, and warm, and with the help of pain medication we kept him comfortable.  I had a couple sleepless nights to be on night duty with him,  man he was special, you could tell he just didn't want to go to Pet Heaven because he did not want to leave Rylee, for he was afraid to leave her alone.

On October 7th, 2014 at 9:07PM Midnight took his last breath....It was heart wrenching, sad, emotional, it was NOT a good time.
