Behind Kerri's...Medication

I don't care who you are, or how "well" you are raising your kids, it is THE most difficult, nonpaying, most of the time non appreciative  job on the planet!

I know that every child is different, I get that, but OH HOLY HELL there was no preparation for my youngest!

She has had her struggles with liking school, to the point that I attempted to home school her at the beginning of the year...it was going VERY well in the beginning, until I noticed she was having trouble focusing, was arguing a lot with me, and then felt VERY stupid when she started struggling with Math, (it didn't help that it was the Core Math crap!)  well to make sure she got the help that she needed, I enrolled her in a Charter school that I originally wanted to put her into but gave in and did the home school thing...on top of that, that is also when we found out she has severe A.D.D., I was hesitant on putting her on a medication but trusted my doctor and went ahead and did so.

Well, here it has been almost a month later, and I see NO change, she literally has ONLY been to school two full days, and two hours and she already has put judgement on this school, saying it is NOT a good fit for her.

You are probably wondering WHY she has missed so much school...well that medication has made her extremely sick!  She has lost a total of 8 lbs, which if you know her, she is tiny already, I don't see my bubbly freckled faced Ginger girl anymore.  So back to the doctor we went yesterday, and he thinks this medication was too much too soon so he cut her off cold turkey and said let her rest for a week to get it all out of her system and then we shall slowly introduce it back into her system by giving her only half a pill, I reluctantly agreed.  In true R fashion...she waits until we are out of the room, out of the office completely and almost to the car and says:  "how are we supposed to cut my pill mom, the little beads will fall out!" CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She takes a capsule!  So of course now I will need to call the doctor and leave a message to find out what we are to do now! LOL

But...in the meantime here is my thought...do I do what they are suggesting or is there something else I can do to help her?

Would love to hear your input on the matter!!!!!!!  I will blog more about the school issues later because THAT is a WHOLE other story and problem....
